What cake is that jjxy? Sugee?

Funz,glad that u are back... :)
Is a butter cake, the previous one was horrible..the middle wasn't cook..
This look decent ?
Should I use salted or unsalted butter?

This look very nice indeed.

I use either or. If use salted than don't add anymore salt. If unsalted usually will add some salt in the flour. The good thing with using unsalted butter is you can control how salty you want the cake to be. I find that adding a bit of salt or using salted butter gives the taste of the cake more depth.

Thanks Funz..
I used unsalted, and I didn't(forgot) add any salt...true, the taste wasn't as good..
(Ps: I think I better go to your 'home' or is there a cake thread?... :siam: instead of keep spamming Jen's thread)
Thanks Jennifer :)

Jixy mum...

Like icy_mama, I too use the Wiltshire brand for my baking needs. Metro members gets discount off blue tags which applies to most (if not all) Wiltshire bake ware. Both their tin version and bend-and-bake silicone version are good.

They come in these sizes for their tin version.

Very easy to wash off.

My hand-me-down oven is very small.
Can fit only the 6pc be it the tin version or silicone version.

The proper n bigger oven, an Ariston is long spoilt. Hubs dowan to geddit fixed (wiring problem) citing tt won't be worth it and I think as long as this counter top oven can breathe till its last breath, he won't even consider to get a new stove-oven just yet. The current oven has not disappointed me yet so far so I'm not complaining.

........ well, except when I have large orders. :frustrated:

Takes longer time to finish baking everything. :faint: Tiring, but not complaining cos I seem to enjoy baking quite a bit. :please:
