Wah very easy to get sucked into arguing about what is wrong with playing squash with friends when that is not the case here. The thing is how he informed you only after the fact and not being home on time.

Grrrr.... can understand your anger.

Ah boy informed me he would be home by 1pm.

Guess what?

Ah boy called ard 10am, told me he is going to Plaza Singapura with classmates for lunch at McD, be back ard 2.30pm. Ok fine.

At 1.20pm, called me he is still having lunch due to waiting for classmates, b back ard 3pm. Ok fine.

At 3.30pm, called me he is walking out of Regency Heights, played squash with friends, b back by 4pm.

I not fine anymore :stompfeet:

 Seems he is enjoying himself in the new school and getting along with school mates.
A few days ago my ds received a surprise call from him to ask how's life in school.

I hv him surrendered his mobile phone, told him to sat opposite me at the dining table.

Went through the timing of his telephone calls to me.

Asked him what changed his mind abt coming home: he met his classmates on the bus. This group of classmates had intended to go to sb's place to play squash, so he asked to join in, completely forgotten to inform me.

What pissed me off is his qns to me: what's wrong with playing squash for a while? Turned out his "for a while" was 30 mins (according to him).

I went through my concerns with him: I did not leave the hse to run errands, just waiting at home for him to return. I did not take a nap despite waking up at 5.30am this morning, just to wait for him.

I told him the 2 issues are: he did not think to inform me & he did not think he was wrong not to inform me.

I asked him how he would feel if he could not reach me via my mobile phone or home phone or answer the doorbell. Would he think sth bad would hv happened to me? Would he be worried?

I told him in his face that he is plain selfish, unable to see beyond himself.

I told him in future at least think how his actions would impact others, would others be inconvenient by him and to think what he has done to make others angry with his decisions.

He is napping now.

P.S. when I said I did not nap as I waited for him, he immediately said: U can go nap now :frustrated: How to nap now? I 一肚子的火, he really has a simple mindset.

Hiaz, when will he grow up ah :gloomy:

Ya, one merit: he knows he should not lie.

I told him I hv every intention to punish him by imposing another month of no computer games. He immediately agreed.

Hence, March - no TV (sth happened a few weeks ago) and no computer games.
