Hi, gals.

Need some help to improve this qnaire n respond to it. Elder boy's sch project.

Many thanks in advance :grphug:

That's a strange questionaire. I help students do research projects so questionaire design is a major peeve that I have with students. It has to be designed in order to answer the specific research question.

I am not able to detect the research question from the questionaire. It appears it is attempting to find out two main things:
a. Consumers' preference of places to purchase groceries
b. Consumers' preferred indicator of quality of groceries.

The above criteria may be useful, but definitely incomplete. Other criteria such as convenience, cost, promotions, recommendations, nature of grocery, etc should also be considered to capture a more complete picture. Otherwise, if the survey data shows that most people prefer to buy from supermarkets, the only conclusion that you can draw from the data is that it is because people prefer to be able to touch and feel the orange themselves to remove their uncertainty about the quality of the products they are about to purchase. This may be a contributing factor, but there could be other more important factors: eg. the cheaper online prices were not low enough for consumers to want to give up their control on food quality.

I give my students a hard time, as you can tell...

:thankyou:

will show elder boy your post when he comes back home.

I also dunno what he wants to find out. Told me he did not hv prior experience designing a qnaire

Good morning.

:thankyou: :grphug: for responding to the survey.

Elder boy said he needs at least 50 respondents :faint:

I told him to get some help with the qnaire qns first, then we get all 亲戚朋友 to help with the survey.

No problem. It is hard to design a questionaire. How old is your elder boy?
Start with the research question first. What is he trying to find out?

Done.

Jen, as suggestion, for future survey forms, he might want to have a short intro at the start of the questionnaire. Basically, giving a very brief intro to the purpose of the survey and for asking respondents to "please help us participate in the survey". Don't forget to thank the respondents at the end for taking the time too.

Also, be mindful about getting all the responses from one channel (for example, only from FB or KSP) as the results may be biased (inaccurate).

But I guess for JC1's work, guess it's the best the students can manage for now. Good effort, nonetheless

:thankyou:

:grphug:

for the suggestions.

Elder boy has made revisions. Kindly click on the link above.

Is the qnaire slightly clearer now? :xedfingers:

He says it is for PW - project work.

We will be forwarding to his aunts and hopefully the aunts can forward to church friends too.

Elder boy says my ksp friends demo are quite similar, he would need 2 more sets of age group.

Btw, the other time he did a survey for ELL "Singlish", I think he did not get a good sample distribution, kena "chided" by teacher

The minimum sample size for a survey to have any significance is 20. 50 is quite good. 100 would be excellent.
