I think he is the only one in class without enrichment and tuition He spends a lot of time playing and reading
Talking about reading, I used to think that reading helps in EL skills. Now I am not so sure about some books eg Geromino Stilton's type for lower pri lvl - too much dialogue, insufficient storyline description. I find ah boy writes w/o proper usage of conjunction and varied style.
He has been asking to read books written by Lee Child (Hubby's reading these right now).
I would prefer him to do Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holms.

My boy is still learning to write his essay. Not fantastic yet. Now only so so.. Usually around 7/10 for the pieces of work I give him. Told him to check up the words in the dictionary. But he will take the easy way out. Just google it.
