There r children who attends science tuition, still do not do well in it.

活学 versus 死记

My elder boy read the whole series of Horrible Science, the encyclopedia n other science reference books.  He had a lousy science teacher then, asked for a crash course in the Jun hols.

Compared to ah boy who did not read as much n attended an expensive crash course after a whole year of tuition.

So Jennifer, to conclude - read more science books better?

Yes, reading is the beginning.

Then to think about it, discuss it and find real life applications. Engage the mind.

But for some children, they only read for interest. Close the book, close the mind.

Fortunately for elder boy, he thinks deeper.

Unfortunately for ah boy, he reads to impress others.

I used the top rack in the oven.

At first I chose Grill function @ 200 deg c.

10 mins later, skin looked cooked, but plain colour.

Then I changed to Roast function.

15 mins later, skin still not golden brown, so I up 240 deg c.

Result: nice colour but a little overdone.

I reduced the amount of marinate by 0.5 tbsp of the shrimp paste n oyster sauce.

Result: not salty enough.

The children like this recipe.

:rahrah:

Yummy

Went to Jem this late afternoon.

Saw Hans n bou a slice of its pear caramel cake. Very unusual combi of pear with its little bits, a little salty.

Very appetizing.

Yes, BT Plaza is dead. Let's support Jem and Westgate.

I am thinking of visiting Big Box on Friday. Anything interesting there?

I guess these places are usually quiet until late afternoon. Of course, many people come during weekends and ph.
