Last week, ah boy stepped on a classmate's laptop.

Today, I received from ah boy a notice from the classmate's father to either bring the laptop to the service centre for repair or to buy a new laptop of similar specifications.

:moneyflies:

During this week, ah boy sms me that someone damaged his iPhone 5C, now totally cant use.

:moneyflies:

Then you send a note to the one who damaged ah boy's phone to ask for repair or replacement.

Ok, I know. Frustrating when you get this kind of things. :hugs:

DD gives me such headaches too but luckily for now, it's small small items like set squares, her e-dictionary or calculator.

Got the somehow full picture of what happened.

Classmate's laptop was on the table. Ah boy took it n placed on the floor as he wanted to lift the table up for repositioning for debate class. Then he stepped on the laptop.

Ah boy was locked outside the boarding room, roommate was inside the room. Ah boy leaned on the door which opens inwards. Roommate opened the door suddenly, ah boy fell to the floor, mobile crashed on the hard floor.

The 1st incident was clearly ah boy's fault.

2nd incident was a pure accident.

Ah boy needs to be taught lessons the hard way, just that it is hard on our pockets.

Cost-sharing from his savings? Extra chores or removal of some privileges/treats to "earn" some of the money?

I doubt these measures will make him feel pinched.

On NUH appt:

I dunno if this would work since I have not done it with NUH, but I will just share it. If the appt is too far away, I will call to re-schedule, explain that I need an earlier slot and the reason. If don't have earlier slot, I would request to be put on wait list for certain timings which I definitely can make it. So far, it works (ie I either managed to get an earlier appt or managed to be put on wait list and then if so happened someone cancels his/her appt, they place me in).

On the chocolate in Elder Boy's bag:
:? Dun quite understand, it's supposed to be a gift? If flattened, did the packaging give way?

On the out of pocket for repair/replacement:
If don't co-pay or have any form of punishment, 不会船过水无痕meh?

Now that I had said this, actually 是leh. For some people, even if you make them pay, they won't feel anything. I got someone like this at home lor.

I doubt these measures will make him feel pinched.

Find something that he will mind, and then phrase it in such a way that it relates to paying back some of the costs. Use whatever he likes best.
