I totally forgot about today being ah boy's birthday.

:thankyou: for all the well wishes.

More busy with replying emails and following up on outstanding issues.

I think I should ask for 13th month and staff bonus this year :gloomy:

Jennifer, you better don't forget else he will remember this for a very long time

:rotflmao:

today is a long school day for ah boy. Believe he has no time to read my sms yet, since I did not get a reply.

Bought a piece of chocolate fudge cake from Cedele @ Guthrie House for him to enjoy later.

Btw, CS has undergone renovation, Swiss Bakery no longer operating.

The cakes from Cedele are worth going back for, pricey at $7 a piece, but size is much bigger than the tiramisu and more to my liking.

I bought the lemon meringue pie for elder boy, which he does not really like cos the top is too sweet, the chocolate fudge cake for ah boy who has no bad reviews, actually like the cake and caramel sea salt cake for myself.

I bought the cakes from the Guthrie House outlet @ 6th Ave.

Noticed the afternoon shift staff are older people, very likely older than me, not much smiles on their faces.

I must be an exception! Birthdays in our family are no big deal - we will remember the day, and usually will have something a little bit more "special" on or near the day, but maybe a favourite food, a home-baked cake etc. We do get a present for them, but now they are older, it's usually something we have consulted and deliberated on with them in advance. When the kids were smaller, we would organise something at home for a few of their friends; now they are big, they invite and arrange for themselves (one usually can't be bothered), and it's always very low-key. To me, a birthday is not much different from any other day.
