Children's birthday are special not only to them but their mothers too.

I must be an exception! Birthdays in our family are no big deal - we will remember the day, and usually will have something a little bit more "special" on or near the day, but maybe a favourite food, a home-baked cake etc. We do get a present for them, but now they are older, it's usually something we have consulted and deliberated on with them in advance. When the kids were smaller, we would organise something at home for a few of their friends; now they are big, they invite and arrange for themselves (one usually can't be bothered), and it's always very low-key. To me, a birthday is not much different from any other day.

Ours also low key..family affair..just that we will try to arrange to be together on that day. Cake, present plus favorite food. That's all.

A day for mothers to remember the birth giving ordeal and then to forgive the child's misdeeds for the past year?

OT: Scheduled c-section.
Not only that, remember the moments when our babies being taken out from us, started crying and then sucking for milk...

of course he does not feel good, think I am unreasonable, he always have his own reasons which to me are just excuses for his absentmindedness.
