Jen, can you share with me what are the relevant books that you got for your ah boy on word recognition in Chinese? I am totally ashamed of myself for not doing anything more for my DS apart from nagging him.

Thanks Jen, I have to go and look for the Normal Chinese version as my DS is not taking Higher Chinese.

On the note of not doing enough - it is always the boss at home that will find fault with not doing enough!

Agree with Jennifer on this.

Same! Mine's a real bossy boss. Will shout and show temper all the time and totally hands-off. Feel that I've been a single-mom throughout my mommy life. There's almost no difference whether he's around or not, in fact me feels more siong when he's around coz like got more things to do and always something not right with me or around the house or the kids not behaving/achieving anything to his expectations.

It makes me thoroughly exhausted, but slowly I realized how I was thoroughly rewarded. I've stopped counting on him for anything with the house, the children and maintaining any emotional balance / happiness at all and have since been happier. When he's given the opportunity to take the reigns from me, he won't. If I allowed myself to sit back and merely waited for him to take the lead, all of us would have wasted years of precious time to improve our lives... to move forward.

Focusing on the things I have successfully done over the years instead of dwelling on the things he can't do for us or the things he often tries to find fault with me about that he keeps repeating I'm inept at, has made me look back and realize the years that I've done things right. The children's love, constant assuring words and the closeness of my relationship with my children are rewards in itself. I just need to take care of my own heart. For as long as it is beating, the longer time I have with my children and to pursue things in life that makes me happy.

It looks like the same book DS's tutor gave him to study. It is a good book.

PP, I recommend this book too.

Thank you. I will go and take a look at Popular. Still have the 20% discount voucher to use before it expires.
