Now, my gal loves it..in the past, she dunno what was that...she said it was so sticky...

Where in JB do you go? That Bukit Indah Shopping Mall have?
I dunno the name of the place where we bot fr...as i alwys follow my BIL who drives us ard in JB as he is very familiar with JB roads...
Anyway, it wasnt a mall ..it was fr one of those shophouses...they home - made those 年糕...

U mean AEON Bukit Indah shopping mall ? U are going there soon ?
I like that shopping mall...huge n spacious...very relaxing place to laze ard...
Dont forget to buy the durian puff there...also the fried durian...yummy !!!

In the olden days...mothers often steamed their own 年糕 ...

Havent try 大中国 年糕 before...guess shd be good too since they are one of those traditional bakeries...

My grandma make own niangao when I was young. In the morning, before leaving for school, use chopstick to dip into the freshly made niangao in the banana leaves covered tin, so yummy.

Now can only steamed the cooked niangao. And only I know how to appreciate it at home.

I guess my mum has decided to revive he tradition by making her own 年糕. It's not bad and she can control the level of sweetness so even better.

Jennifer - I'm not familiar with prices of 年糕so not sure if $6.50 is expensive.

It's your birthday? Happy Birthday!
You're just one day after my husband's.
