Can I check if my child gets a D7 for E maths but overall L1R5 below 20 , does he still qualify for JC? ( He has a place via DSA)

Thank you.

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this query..

May I ask how are the following students ranked in terms of merit ? If there’s only one vacancy left in a JC, and all 3 students place that JC as their 1st choice, which student will get in ? Thank you..

Student A : 6 - 0 = 6 pts
Student B : 8 - 2 = 6 pts
Student C : 10 - 4 = 6 pts

Priority goes to the 6 pts w/o bonus points if same citizenship.

Check Page 25 of the JAE booklet in pdf file or Page 11 in the actual booklet

In situations where there are two or more applicants with the same net aggregate score vying for the last place in a course, they will be posted based on their citizenship status in the order of Singapore citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents and then International Students. If there is still a tie, for example between two Singapore citizens with the same net aggregate score, the one with the better gross aggregate score will be posted to the course first. If there is still a tie between the two citizens with the same gross aggregate scores, posting to the course will be determined by a computerised ballot where each candidate is given an equal opportunity.

Thank you, emoh, for clarification

That means the candidate with the lowest Original Raw score will be admitted in first, before others (the rest), even if he (she) end up having exactly the same, identical Nett score with others.

They always look at your Original Raw score first

Thanks for the link, phtthp!

Looking at Table 3, L1R5 calculation for jkids’ child should be:

L1 (compulsory first language): English 4 pts
R1 (compulsory humanities): Geog 1 pt
R2 (compulsory maths/science): Science 2 pts
R3 (compulsory maths/science): Maths 4 pts
R4 (any subject): Art 1 pt
R5 (any subject): MT or food & consumer edu, whichever one 3 pts
Total 15 pts
Isn't MT a compulsory subject?
Can L1R5 be made up of EL, 2 Maths, 3 Science?
For HCL to be considered for 2 bonus points deduction, is it comulsory to have it in the aggregation of L1R5?

Sorry, another question.
If her HCL is very good, can it considered as L1 and totally disregard EL in the aggregate of L1R5?
