Are all secondary schools working with only ONE system to attain the CCA points :?

I understand that between 8-19 points you will be entitle to 1 Bonus point and if you attain 20 points and above will get 2 Bonus points. My question is how do one derive to 20 points? Do each school have their own discretion of allocating the points OR all schools follow MOE?

Eg. 01

1) A child in AAA school do 50 cip hours in NLB - AAA school recognise as 50 hours.

2) A child in BBB school do 50 cip hours in NLB - BBB school ONLY recognise as 30 hours.

Eg. 02

1) A child in AAA school joint an external organisation for performing arts - AAA school recognise the hours put in and allocate leaps point.

2) A child in BBB school joint the same external organisation for performing arts - BBB school DO NOT recognise and no leaps point allocated

In the above cases, can we contest for the points?

Appreciate all input and guidance.

I don't think schools will not recognise CIP hours you have completed, as long as you record them with the necessary documents, which differ according to schools. I have no clue about the performing arts case though.

This is what my teacher said: They key in the records into a system managed by MoE. I once asked for points to be given for a competition I won, but was denied the points and the reason was because other schools did not key in that competition, therefore the system does not recognise it. I don't know how true this is, but I think it has a valid point.

With reference to the

Page 13:

c) Recognition will only be given for activities organised by external organizations in the approved list ((Ref. Annex C).

Anyone knows where can I obtain the Annex C? [unable to get a response from the MOE CCA dept :( ]

Hi nani, I got this from MOE. :D Annex C is only circulated to school personnel.

However, you would be pleased to note that many programmes that are organised by the respective National Sports Associations (NSA) and professional arts groups (e.g. Singapore Symphony Orchestra) could be recognised under the current Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) framework. In addition, schools have the autonomy to recognise activities that are not found in the annex (i.e. based on its own assessment and focus). As such, I would encourage you to seek further clarifications with the school(s) of your choice
