It seems that Ms felicia (useful english tutor) from Toa Payoh is the most recommended tutor here and also the other forum.
But too bad we're located in the East. Any other highly recommended English teaching centres in the East? North-east is also fine!

Dear Parents, this is a long story that I've to share with you,
Sob sob ... a real life story that will help assure you that you are NOT alone as a parent with a difficult child;and also perhaps understand what Teacher Thom has to go through sometimes, being "hated" and finally being "acquitted" LOL
...

Dont want to clog up the forum space..ao
If you want to take time to read it, and be inspired, drop me a message. Will show you the full chat history lol

If a child can do a four-fold jump from a C6 Credit to B3 Credit within a couple of months, there is hope for your child too.

Dear Parents

The June holidays are just around the corner.

Do advise your children to spend at least 30 minutes a day reading English books (both fiction and non-fiction), newspaper, magazines as well as interesting articles / blogs on the Internet.

Reading every day is particularly important for students whose command of English sentence structures is weak, or who frequently make grammatical errors, not only in their compositions, but in their answers to comprehension and summary writing questions.

When students read English materials regularly, it helps them to internalise sentence structure, English expressions and grammatical rules, so that when they are working on an editing exercise, they can instinctively tell that a certain word has been wrongly used.

if your child is taking the 'O' Levels (or PSLE) this year and tells you that he / she has no time for reading because he / she has to study for the other subjects, you can tell him / her that this 30 minutes of reading time is actually part of his / her preparation for the English paper.

And if your child is in primary school or in Sec 1 or Sec 2, it would help if you introduce a family reading time -- half an hour each day (this can be at a different time each day, depending on your family members' respective schedules) when all the members of your family sit in the same room and read their own books, magazines etc.

Have a good week ahead!
