Dear Parents,

Is there any good Chinese Enrichment center in the Eastern Area to recommend?

Check out Children's Arts Theatre at Kembangan Plaza, which is next to Kembangan MRT Station. It is like a boutique Chinese enrichment centre. There are no branches, just that one there. Some of the teachers were ex-TCS actors or personalities, like Mr Chen Zhao Jin. He tells the most wonderful and animated stories! The classes do not focus overly much on writing at a young age. They pre-schoolers learn in a warm environment which focuses on getting them to understand Mandarin and to be interested in Chinese culture. They do art and craft and singing and dancing, etc, during the lessons as well. The writing bit is emphasised later as the kids mature. Excellent for nursery and kindergarten students!

What are you looking for and which age group?

For academic, I still like Molin at GRTH building. They do not have any other branch in Singapore. Heard principal is ex-teacher in TNS.

For Children Arts Theatre, I think it's good for pre-schoolers. But I find that it is more suitable for encouraging the kids to like CL language but it is not the academic sort. My kids were with them for a while when they were preschoolers. Probably more like a speech & drama class.

Yes, inclined to agree. CAT is very good for the foundation years. The kids will enjoy the language and not be afraid of it. May want to consider other options for a more academic programme if your kids are older.

Spunky is looking for IP HMT Chinese enrichment, so it's for secondary school higher mother tongue level. Not pre-school and primary school.
