Yes, most probably. That's what was announced at my school this morning.

Maybe. We will never know. Though I'm quite certain will be >80. >85 is just a very safe A1 grade.

k, I just went to the website for a quick look...but is it really so difficult for poly entry into local Uni, a few weeks ago i went online to check it out, poly entry score into NTU is 20% of O level, 80% of poly score.......If my o level got L1R5 of around 7, does it makes it easier for me to go to Local Uni through poly entry..because the type of courses offered in jc are too limited....I am hoping to take business( accountancy) in either one of the 3 local uni...may i know what is my chance of going to local uni if I am really putting efforts during my years in poly. Actually, I am not just aiming to go to a local Uni, I am trying to aim for First Class Honour in Business/ Accountancy in local uni, so I wished to go to a poly to at least build up my foundation before going to uni...May I also know the performance of poly students in Uni ???? Although i havent receive my o level results, but I guess it is at least 8 for my raw L1R5, ( with my own bonus pt of 4, 2 pt for cca, 2 pt for higher chinese).....I told my classmates I wanted to go to poly. However, this is they replied, " Are you crazy? You will most probably attain single point for your L1R5 yet you just want to go to poly?????... Others with this L1R5 will most likely go to NJC or ACJC......"....

Is there any course in poly where there would be math or physics like quantum mechanics? Cause if i can't enter JC, then i will enter poly with these course as they are my favourite. For accountancy in poly, is it something like math where it is based mainly on numbers and calculation or is there some theory or policies which i must remember( i hate most)? Anyway, is there a chance for those taking accountancy in poly to be real accountants in bank and how much will the salary be approximately? Pardon me for my ignorance.

Mechanical engineering might be a good choice if you like math and physics. Not very sure about quantum physics though.
A diploma might not suffice, you might have to further your studies in a university.

I think it depends how you view it.

There were also a minority grp of students who scored single digit and still go poly.

Reason? In case, or if they ever fail their A Level and can't anywhere (unless you retake).....but having a diploma, the certificate itself commands a higher status compared to A level certificate; not to mention about better job salary/prospect. But having single digit means that they are confident to get the top XX% cohort to gain entry into the uni.

Isetan, agree with you. I have seen my ex-classmates doing the same thing. They are one of top students during my years and yet for some reason they choose poly route instead. These are single digit scorer. But you what, they end up the top students in their cohort, winning multiple scholarship, etc....
