For entry into polytechnics.... L1R4 ... R4 is any best subjects will do? Does it have to match according to the course the child wants?

Hi!

To be exact, it should be L1R2B2. L1=English, R2=2 relevant subjects, and B2=2 Best subjects. The 2 relevant subjects should be matched with the respective courses.

Hi!

You may like to take a look at this link for Ngee Ann Poly entry requirements for various courses. But, sorry, it's a bit outdated. Maybe you can try to search the respective polys' website for the most updated one..

Usually its the math and sciences which they will use to compute the L1R4. but its different from course to course. I think those kind of aeronautical or bio med courses may have quite specific criteria. Whereas those business course may be more flexible. You have to see which course you would like to enter and then proceed to concentrate your efforts on those subjects!

It depends on what course you plan to do in Poly.

Refer to page 23 of the JAE 2014 booklet,
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... e-info.pdf

If I choose ELR2B2-C or ELR2B2-D courses, then I dont need a humanities subjects. Example I can use English, 2nd Lang, 2 Maths, 1 Science for my ELR2B2.

If i choose ELR2B2 -A or ELR2B2 -B, you will need to include either the combined humanities or the Pure humanities subject.
