8. What are SUTD's admission requirements? How is one selected for admission to SUTD?

SUTD aims to nurture bright and well-rounded students. Applicants will be evaluated through a holistic approach that includes academic results, co-curricular activities, a 500-word essay, referee's feedback, and any other supplementary information included in the application (e.g., your portfolio, video, blog, etc). Your 500-word essay and supplementary information should provide more information on your leadership qualities, research experience, extraordinary/unusual accomplishments and other personal qualities and relevant experience.

Students are also encouraged to have a Mathematics and a Science subject at the H2, Higher Level, Senior High or equivalent level.

Shortlisted candidates will also have to undergo an interview.

Maybe that's why they worded it as 'encouraged' and not 'mandatory'.

Although it's not mandatory, it does mean that you will have to be more impressive in other ways if you lack what they recommend.

Yes, they do have physics bridging programs. But those are usually for those who took H2 bio or H2 chem instead of H2 physics. In any case, I believe you need math and one other science and also a pass in O level physics if you do not have H2 physics.

SUTD's pedagogy is different from the other universities. Their architecture degree is somewhat different from NUS or other schools. Their emphasis on holistic learning means that you will need to take up physics and engineering modules as well. Not only that, you can't apply directly into architecture. You will have to go through 1.5 years of common curriculum. The common curriculum would definitely have lots of physics.

I doubt you can get in with no science H2 subjects. The requirement is there not only because of the content but rather the scientific method/mindset that one accumulates while studying a science.

Thank you havok_ex for insight. SUTD Architecture looks like Engineering program.
