is geography at Upper sec very much tougher?

daughter insists on appealing for electing geography.
Between Physical geography and Practical geography, which one is easier ?

Geography is split into human geography and physical geography.

Physical geog is usually studying tectonic plates, earthquakes and how volcanoes form , aka studying the Earth.

Human geog refers to study of human pattern, like tourism, urbanism and culture

From past experience, physical geog is somehow easier to score, because its hard memorisation. Human geog need to analyse data, graphs, answers are more subjective. But, human geog is more fun to learn.

You mean Physical vs Human Geog? Can you choose between these at O level? I would expect that Geography as a subject would combine the various areas? Or has it changed now?

At H2, students have to learn both physical and human Geog (no map reading, which was a 3rd paper in my time - that would have been the "practical" part?). Physical is more "science" and would appeal to science students, I guess. Human is more like social studies, bordering on econs, sociology and history, and involves more interpretation of human behaviour.

Yes pure geog expectations of content n essay are more n A lot harder . Though requires factual memory work but No regurgitation . But Geog is a enjoyable subject to study for a lot of knowledge . When we travel, my elder kid can relate a lot abt landscape, climate , tourism etc
