If you do not have any younger kids taking PSLE, then you can safely clear the primary school text.

Primary school books are not applicable for Secondary School use.

If they are still in good condition, why not donate to the annual NTUC books collection drive?

Hi Janet, I asked DS whether its necessary to keep Sec 1/2 books for Sec 3 n he said no. Reasons being Sec 1/2 textbooks are too simple n irrelevant for use in Upper Sec.

The only subjects he think worth keeping will be languages.

thanks for your reply zbear...I am staring at 2 stacks of books...if I do not clear, there is no space for sec 3 :frustrated: son told me cannot throw anything.

janet, once your ds' Sec 3 combi is confirmed, you will also need to throw/give away those subjects which he wont be taking, eg my ds dropped Geog n Lit, so no point keeping them.

Hi janet, I am glad to be of help. I will try my best to answer your questions (based on my ds' experience n feedback).

The killer subject when all Sec 3s start is Social Studies when almost everyone will fail. But not to worry, come to end of Sec 3, they will pick up the correct writing technique n improve. I am now waiting to see if this is true for my DS.

He is still mugging (I hope so) n exams will finish end of next week, so he is very sian.

DS is never as hardworking as DD n I don't intend to push him too much as I realise that his capability is only average after he got his PSLE results.

son is also the same here...in terms of hardworking, he will never match younger sister. now I worry about his results this year though there is nothing I can do.
