A belated happy New Year. My DS will be doing the Ed Excel Maths Gcse 9-1, here in England. Can someone please review the Ed Excel URL and let me know if the content and challenge is same as the SG Maths O Level. Reason being someone is sending me the Maths O Level TYS, and if relevant DS can practise the TYS.

Please refer to the Higher "H" papers.

Hi Newtandcucumber,
The Higher Tier is similar to Sec 1 (Express) Math in SG. Maybe you can refer to this level past year paper for his practice.
FYI in case you need it, Foundation Tier is similar to Sec 1 (Normal-Tech) in SG.

You may want to check out this link.

Cheers.

Thank you dazzlego

Do you feel then that the

1. Ed Exc GCSE is easier than the SG O Level.

3. If yes to "1", then the SG O Level papers will help him overachieve in the ED Excel GCSE.

Hi all,

There is a change in syllabus in O level E math exam starting from last year, with a new type of application question. Heard the question is quite challenging.

How do you help your kids cope with this question?

Actually the schools would have already prepared students from the lower secondary on mathematical modelling to expose them to the new type "application" questions. Since it is "new" it will most likely comprise a small portion of the marks in the papers. It may not even be a whole question may be just part of the question.
