According to principal of a JC - MOE says this year's cohort did better than last year's as a whole in the O-levels. So quite likely, the COP may be a little lower than before.

to be fair, the COP is likely to go down further and based on the current COP of 4 for example for VJC, it does not mean that all students getting 4pt for L1R5 will be fulfilled. I was told that the COP should be "3.5" which means only some 4 pt scorers are fulfilled. The reason is that the difference in each point can be as many as estimated 3000 students per point in the most competitive scoring such as between 8-10 points due to the various combination of bonus points; eg

a student who scored 8 point for L1R5 without CCA and without HMT
vs
a student who scored 9 point for L1R5 with CCA bonus 1 point
vs
a student who scored 10 point for L1R5 with CCA bonus 2 point
vs
a student who scored 11 point for L1R5 with CCA bonus 1 point and HMT 2 point
vs
a student who scored 12 point for L1R5 with CCA bonus 2 point and HMT 2 point

in the above 5 different scenarios, the L1R5 including bonus will be 8 point and as many as estimated 3000 students can get this score assuming 600 student is in either of the 5 scenarios. Ditto for L1R5 including bonus - 9 and 10 point etc

about 50,000 students take part in the O levels every year.

Pardon me for my ignorance, one question. So IP schools like DHS and RVHS not accepting students from O levels like RI, HCI and NJC ? :?

Oh because I don't see DHS COP in the list.
RVHS no, maybe because this year is the first batch of A level, so cannot set yet.
So I am wondering lor :?

I don't think so DHS and RVHS are accepting O level students as there is nothing listed in the joint admission 2010 booklet . Unless they accept through DSA then I am not sure.

RV and DHS took in 400 year 1 IP students from year one each year. This is left with 50 remaining places for year 3 and 5 admission. I don't think there are chances to get into these two schools after O level. Also, from what I know, RV took in 30-40 chinese scholars that start from year 3. so that is left with not too many vacancies.
