Any Highly recommended English tutor for secondary 3

Hi All,

Desperately need some help for my boy english who score only C5 for his secondary 2 exam. Any good introduction or word of mouth for English tutor?
English is a very important subject and we desperately need help. Not much time to try out too so hope to have some parent reply knowing any good tutor and able to see improve results for his/her kids. I really need one for my boy who going to Sec 3 next year.

Tution agency in charge or tutor yourself in charge no need to reply as prefer word of mouth from parents instead. Thank you ALL.

It varies -- widely. I charge $450/mth for individual tuition and $400/mth for group, but I've heard of individual tutors out there charging $15-$25 an hour. When I was an undergrad, my rates were $25 an hour, but I'm sure inflation would have changed things over the last 7 years.

Hi

I am Janice, an ex MOE teacher of 16 years of experience teaching English. I conduct English lessons at my centre, Mckaylan Tutorial Centre.
I develop the curriculum to engage my learners and make them fall in love with the subject. My pupils are never bored in my lessons. An engaged learner is one who looks forward to the lessons and eventually improve.

I start every lesson with a vocabulary list of 10 words as pupil hardly read these days. This is followed by comprehension or writing skills. For the Sec 3 and 4 classes, I focus on expository and argumentative skills. I will also cover theme based lessons to expand my pupils' general knowledge, enabling them to write better expository and argumentative compositions. Grammar and oral skills are also taught.

I teach almost all the classes at my centre as teaching is my passion. Hence, my Sat classes for Sec 4 is full. I have one place left for Sat Sec 3. I have some places left for my Sec 3-4 classes on Monday.

I hardly advertise and is not active in forums. My pupils know about me by word of mouth. You can read their testimonials about the lessons in my blog and website.
