Montessoris with 3-hour Work Cycle

Postby jul04 » Wed Feb 23, 2011 8:48 am

Would appreciate it if anyone can recommend a Montessori with preferably a 3-hour work cycle.

I've looked at Character Montessori, Amazing Star Montessori n MMI but none of them have what i want. Not to say that they're bad CCs, just not suitable for me.

I know of Montessori For Children at Newton but it's not cheap. If there's a more affordable alternative, pls point me to it!

I'm not particular abt whether it's a preschool or CC as i have partial ILs' support. If it's near Toa Payoh, it's best! Newton, Novena, Thomson etc nearby areas would work for me, especially if there's school bus service.

Thanks!

the 3 hrs curriculum here also include teaching kids grammar:-

2 time slots:-

yup, 3 hr work cycle does not include snack time or playtime. My kids session is from 1pm to 5pm. Their circle time is also excluded from the 3 hr work cycle.

circle time is group time for group activity lead by the teacher such as talking about the day's events or getting the kids to settle down when they just arrived in school. During the 3hr work cycle, the kids engaged in individual work using montessori material.

U can read this article to find out more about the 3hr work cycle

Mine are in kindy. I do not know how a CC would manage a montessori prog. Maybe mummies who have kids in montessori CC can share

It's very difficult to find a school here that follows strictly Maria Montessori's method in full. One of the reasons is becos of the environment, I guess.

In SG context, is montessori better than the convention CC system? I am thinking of changing my kids to montessori curriculum.
