New framework for childcare personnel

Postby tankee » Fri Oct 05, 2012 10:03 pm

SINGAPORE: Childcare personnel will have structured pathways to develop and update their professional knowledge and skills, under a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework.

The framework aims to enhance childcare quality by further developing manpower capabilities within the sector.

It defines and maps the progressive levels of competencies required in core domains such as child development, learning environment and curriculum as childcare professionals progress in their roles.

It also outlines tools, activities and resources that can help centres evaluate and support the professional development needs of their teachers and educarers.

The framework was developed by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), in close consultation with early childhood experts.......

not forgetting if lets say they are more trained, will they increase the student/teacher ratio again since they are "better" in managing them??
