Where to buy travel insurance?

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Citibank travel insurance is underwritten by ACE and has a 35% discount, but then it is still slightly higher priced compared to what was quoted on MSIG, at least for the one i requested.

Go direct to MSIG (35% discount from 1st Oct to 22 Feb 2015) it will be at least 5% cheaper than at DBS/POSB .

www.msig.com.sg

I just compared what MSIG offers on its own website with what it offers under POSB. Yes, premiums under POSB are higher but that's because the coverage is better too.

I always use Tenet. Easy to buy over the Internet. Best thing is I have made claims on various occasions (they are claims ranging for $1-2k) and they were easy and fuss free. I feel the real test with insurance is the claim process and Tenet is has passed this test for me several times!
Have you ever tried AXA ?

I just bought AXA for my recent trip, with a discount through Citibank. Didn't have to claim on it, so no idea how good the claims process is.

I am wondering if anyone from this forum has tried to purchase travel insurance from FWD? We are planning to have our vacation in Japan in December and one thing on our checklist is to buy travel insurance. We really appreciate it if you will comment on your experience with FWD especially with their travel insurance program.

Travel insurance claims review

Post by MerlionInGermany » Fri Oct 11, 2019 8:28 pm

Has anyone claimed from FWD and Great Eastern and Income?
Looking for claims review, to decide which one to buy.

NTUC Income - No Trouble Until Claim.
FWD / GE - straight forward. However, read the policy document - make sure they cover what you need.
The others you can consider areChubb (which you can buy from DBS) and DirectAsia.

P/S: I don't know much about their claims review (but I do know some of their claim analysts  )

Read all 3 policy wordings and also Etiqa’s.
Just need to know if anyone has claimed before.

Between the 3, choose FWD or GE (and between them, choose the cheapest) if you are concerned about the claim process.
