Travel: Malaysia - Sunway lagoon

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Hi
Has anyone taken a buget flght to KL and then to Sunway Lagoon ? Not sure whether there're coaches/ buses from the airport to Sunway Lagoon. If taking a cab, is there a kiosk selling taxi coupons at the airport too ?

TIA.

Kiosk that sell taxi coupon, may i know what is that? You mean we can get taxi from Kiosk.

Hi lizuan76, you can buy the coupon from taxi kiosk at KL sentral station and board the taxi without additional charges.

Hi ningy, from the budget terminal (LCCT), just as you exit from customs, there will be kiosks selling taxi coupons. Just go to the kiosk and tell them your destination and they will sell you the coupon, then proceed to the taxi stand where you will produce the coupon to the taxi driver and he will bring you to your destination without further charges.

There are different zones depending on distance.
You pay according to the zone your location is in.
The counter will collect the amount and issue you a coupon for that zone.
So when you board the taxi, you tell the driver your desstination and show him the coupon which he will keep.
He will bring you there and there is no additional cost.

When you have reached your destination eg Sunway Lagoon and later want to go to another place eg Pavilion, you can buy a taxi coupon from Sunway lagoon to Pavilion.

Hi
Just came back from Sunway Lagoon (4D3N) - 3 Adult(DD1 is 13 - considered adult) + 1 C : 2rooms + coach fares = $1200 (inclusive hotel buffet breakfast and 1 day pass at the amusement parks).

Quite fun for the kids especially the wildlife park - many animals to see but the amusement park is not too good - not that many rides. Wet park - the usual slides and stuff. Got an ice-skating ring at the mall - must pay on your own. The hotel is joined to the shopping malls, so can shop and eat till you drop (shopping in ringgit is good !). Nothing much to do there - just eat and relax.

We just came back from Sunway. We drove there with 2A+3C and it was fun. The kids love the animals and the water park. It wasn't as dirty and scary as posted, only the wave pool has a bit of sandy feeling and we did not stay there for long. The rest was good. My 7yo DS1 enjoyed the long slide equivalent to the big splash we used to have in SG. And my 5yo and 3yo DS2 and DS3 love the water playground, it was sliding fun. The rides in the amusement park is reasonably well maintained but not as many as disneyland. This theme park is very good for my kids of these age group. We did not buy a lot as the prices there is equivalent to SG unless you are buying local products. Its good to eat there though.

Just came back from Sunway Lagoon. Stayed at Sunway Pyramid. Good holiday as everything is located in one place - shopping, eating, playing, resting.... The food is good. Felt the quality of food in the restaurants at the Mall is better than in Singapore and cheaper too. The breakfast spread is also quite good.

The rides at the Amusement Park is suitable for children above 1.2m. Be warned that some rides will get you wet. The wildlife park is ok too. Just that the staff there seem more interested in talking among themselves then to the visitors... The rental of the tube floats are optional since it is only used for the lazy river and the wave pools. I find the use of e-wallet very convenient. Would also recommend getting a locker for multi opening. For RM15, it saves us carrying all the stuff around. Get the locker near the bathing facilities near the water park.

As an added bonus, I would recommend a visit to Bread Town in Shah Alam. Located in Section 21 (Shah Alam industrial area), there is a bread museum and a tour of the bread factory. Educational for people who likes bread! For more details, here is the website - http://high5breadtown.com/index.php

Hi,

Plan to go during the year end holiday and need some advice. Is 3D2N sufficient? How's the weather, will it rains?

TIA.
