Short Weekend Getaway Trip w/o kids

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

dpds on what you want to do - Bangkok (cheap massage, food, shopping), Batam (massage, sun/sea...actually I never been there), Bintan (relax)...or staycation - book a hotel in Sg and enjoy.

Yes, a cruise to nowhere is idea or you could go to Sentosa, stay at some of the new hotels...if you have $$$, can go to Capella! Its very nice and relaxing and you feel like kings and queens..

How about Langkawi?
Can rent a car to go around the island, or simply stay in the resort with nice beach, and away from the buzzling life in the city.

hi,

it is the Company which matters.
Romance each other, indulge in chit-chats, brunch..

Destination is a bonus.
I am very jealous, will consider asking my mum look after kids one weekend :celebrate:

oh.. Natas coming...

It really depends on your budget.

I went to Batam with hubs recently and we liked the convenience.
It's only a 45 minute ferry ride away.

We took a fullboard package with 3hour couple spa. SHIOK!
Am thinking of going back there very soon :)

Another alternative is Cherating, Malaysia (either Club Med or you can try Legends Beach Resort). We went there a few times (tried different resorts) and we love it! Can book a taxi out to take a walk in the jungle with a natural waterfall! If you want it cheap, can take bus up (which was what we did a few times) or you can take a plane up then transfer to the resort's limousine/van.

Desaru is also nice but we've not been there in recent years, not too sure how's the place like now.
