Attend Shanghai schools during holiday

I'm interested in sending my dds (P3 & K2) to attend schools in Shanghai this May/June holidays. No international schools. Either local schools or local schools' international division. Anybody has lobang or experience? I don't need living arrangement, just a spot for them to attend schools with other children in Shanghai.

local schools are usually off limit to foreigners unless they have been approved by the local moe to allow foreign students to visit.

those with international division would be ideal. you may need to approach them on your on, check the baidu.com for local listing of schools in shanghai, call them......your child's pri school has no immersion scheme with pri school in china ?

Thanks vk2010! My child's pri school has immersion scheme with pri school in china. I emailed my dd class teacher, but she told me (after she checked with the VP) that the local shanghai school does not entertain foreign students on a personal basis... :(

What about trying some holiday enrichment classes in Shanghai? My friend will arrange to fly their kids to Shanghai during every June and Dec and hire a personal tutor (or professional) to coach them 1 month intensive on China culture, Chinese language, calligraphy etc.. anything and everything under the sun to soak in the Chinese culture.

It a pity that immersion programme is only for Pri 5s in my DD's school. How I wish they would start earlier at Pri 3. Thank goodness we were lucky enough to join a few school immersion programmes, hence DD has been exposed to foreign schools in various countries (other than China).

I suppose that will be the alternative. Do you know how many hours day does the personal tutor coach every day? Thanks!!

I think around 4 hours a day. Anyway, since it's 1 to 1 coaching, then you can customise the programme and get the tutor to coach according to the hours you deem suitable for your child. My friend has 2 kids and they train together. :D

Thanks Happy Mama. Can get the contact from your friend? Does it work for your friend's kids?
