Travel: Malaysia - General

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

:celebrate: A GPS is what you need, cos a map doesn't "re-route". :)

I hate Malasyia's signboards...have anyone realised that their traffic signboards for directions seemed to be located either AFTER the turn or at the turn? Sometimes there is simply no time for reaction.

Then again, my hb says the best part of driving is getting lost.... :P

We are going to Kuantan this June :D This is our third trip there. Love the beaches and food there.

We went with our GPS during our last trip, it was a breeze compared to using the map previously.

this weekend 23-24 May, I am heading for Sibu Kelong. Strangely, all the previous mummies and daddies all disappeared. If there is interest, can contact me.

I am also planning to head for a lighthouse at Port Klang. Trip planned for Jun 20-22. If interested, can follow me.

Overnight Getaway to Malaysia

[Moderator's note: Topics merged.]

Hi,

Am trying to research on how to drive up to Malaysia (maybe Malacca/KL), anyone able to suggest?

We are thinking of doing it over the weekend, Saturday set off (early am :snooze:), stay overnight at hotel, then Sunday set off back to Malaysia. It has to be safe as we are bringing our kidos (2 & 6) with us.

Got suggestions?

If you want it safe, then take shorter trip. Go Malacca via 2nd link and then N-S highway. About 2 hours on highway and should be safe if you travel below 110 km/h. However, I must warn that activities in that town are gonna quite boring... :D
