Thanks in advance.

At least 2-days for shopping. Rumah Mode is a must. Jeans Street is a waste of time.
1/2 day for Trans Studio if you need air con comfort and some form of entertainment for the kids. Maybe too tame for the older kids but ~12 years should generally be fine. Some of the stage shows are spoken in Bahasa though.
1 day for Tangkuban Perahu, the nearby hot spring and tea plantation if you have additional time to kill. Not much of an excitement but can be educational experience for the children.

4D3N is probably just nice for Bandung alone. Plenty of good food to be had in Bandung - Javanese and Sudanese especially.

If you have not bought your tickets, check SilkAir website. Their fares are sometimes cheaper than AirAsia from SIN to Bandung.

Thanks Floppy for sharing.

I am also exploring to bring my 2 small kids this dec holiday.

Plan to rent a car or book the local tour there.

Any recommendations?

Do you know what other plantations we can go?

Apart from the tea plantations and strawberry farms, I'm not aware of any other plantations that are open to the tourists.

I would recommend booking a local tour there. You can choose to drive in Bandung but the traffic can be horrible (especially on weekends). If you must, do remember the keyword to driving in Indonesia - 'sabaran'.

Bandung's great place for travellers without lil kids cos the airport is really SMALL. The queues are so long and there is no place to stand or sit in the main lobby where the X-ray machine is placed at the doorstep! It's frustrating cos u need to jostle your way thru to the other end to pay for your taxes after checking in your baggage...oh, there's only 1 short belt in the entire airport, so be very patient...if not for the nice weather, i'd hv lost my temper!

Otherwise, as mentioned, weather is great! Of course most pp go there to chiong the factory outlets, but don't be too excited when u see Chanel, Prada, Gucci or LV. They are most likely FAKES! You might be lucky to leave with some genuine MNG, Zara, MaxMara, BCBG, H&M or Top Shop apparels.

Everyone will tell you to go to Rumah Mode, the #1 outlet that is like a Balinese resort, but there really is nothing there to buy for me at least. I found my stuffs at Secret, Grande and Heritage. Many more along Jalan Riau, its outlet shopping belt. Also popular is the Ralph Lauren outlet which is located elsewhere. Genuine polo tees at SGD40+? I grabbed many kids' polos.

Foodwise I wasn't too impressed. DO ur kids eat spicy stuffs? Sundanese food is so-so to me. There's a big food place next to Heritage Factory outlet.

If u plan to drive, be prepared for the horrendous evening traffic jams...

To buy Keropoks, dried goods and handicrafts, go to Pasar Baru Trade Centre-a chaotic Golden Mile lookalike shopping centre trapped in yesteryears.

Shopping centres are everywhere. Festival Citylink has Lotte Mart, Paris Van Java, C-Walk, etc.

To buy the delectable kueh lapis (in at least 6 diff flavours), Bandung's famous steamed brownies and many other 'Bengawan Solo' kueh kuehs, u must visit Karthika Sari main store. YUM!

To visit the volcanos, the most famous being Tangkuban Perahu, u must check with local tour guide or met station if it's safe for that day to go up the mountain. In my recent trip, we had to abort the tour cos the sulphuric emission level and PSI were in the unhealthy range. Luckily I visited it when I was in pr sch...

Not too sure abt Bandung hot springs and tea plantations today...Wasn't too keen on their Spas either, but did try its foot reflexology one night-not as good as those in Bali for sure.
