Any particular must visit places that are good for kids? I will not be going Geneva, though there are quite a few interesting places for children.

zurich was our base, cos wife working, and made day trips from there.
very efficient rail system and easy to navigate, went to basel, berne, lucern etc, geneva is further,
within zurich itself, children will enjoy chocolate factory tour and haidi tour up the mountain, and also snow slides....
will be a good idea to pay a visit to the tourist office at the mail railway station, very helpful info and staff

flew SQ last year, direct, should be abt 14 hrs, video on demand comes in handy esp with children.... managed to catch a few movies myself too ;)
not sure what's the best season, but i personally like spring, not as cold, and flowers ready to bloom...

I went to Switzerland twice, both DIY.

Yes, visit the Rhine falls and Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. I did not get any swiss knife or watch because they are pretty expensive. I bought chocolate home.

For both trips (each about 2 weeks), we took MAS and bought its rail pass. We ventured to Paris (by train) and London (by taking the budget airline) too.
