Going to Munich/Upper Bavaria. I've done my research and has some idea what to do/see. Anyone has experience/advice/itinerary to share?

I prefer to stay near Munich Main Train Station as I will be making a couple of day trips by rail. The hotels located south of Munchen Train Station is more affordable, but read that the area is kinda 'undesirable'. Is it necessary or worth paying more to stay nearer to Karlplatz area or Altstadt?

Pullman Hotel

I thought that these hotels were quite safe.
Easy to get to City Centre by U-Bahn (their MRT).
Check and see which hotels have good deals during the time you are there.

Is it practical to travel to Germany alone with my 3 kids (6,7,12) in Dec? My hb is on biz trip so we'll be meeting him there. I will be in the flight alone with them and make it to first hotel until my hb joins us.

Should be ok if they've been travelling regularly with you guys every winter. The SOP is quite standard.

The 12-year-old child helps you with the 7-year-old sibling, while you handle the 6-year-old. The eldest can manage his own mid-sized cabin baggage. You push a large 4-wheel baggage, in addition to your handcarrier.

Suggest your husband take half of the younger kids' winter clothing along with him in his large baggage to Germany first (especially if he is taking biz class entitled to 50kg).

Just carry onboard your respective down jackets & accessories, travel toiletries, in case of baggage loss/delay upon arrival.

Reserve all seats in same row (or 3+1) near lavatories. NA if y'all are taking biz class.

CIQ no problem for families.

Take maxi cab if you cannot manage your baggage. You can take train but you need to assess your children's strength in lugging and off/loading baggage to/from platform. NA if you're renting a car from airport.

Visiting toilets - depends on the gender of your 3 kids. You need to split/buddy them up as the ladies queues are always longer. Airport / subway toilets are free. Some toilets in the city may not be free. Give the boys some coins before you split up.

My biggest worry is pickpockets that targets tourist but I think Germany is generally safer than rest of Europe. Hope I'm right.

Yes you're right. I've not been pickpocted so far in Germany- pHew- but do note there're more migrants from the Middle East these days. There are also homeless people sleeping on the streets.

But safer to wear a money belt or neck wallet To hedge ur risk, you can get the eldest child to wear a money belt too. Stash some spare cash inside the inner pockets of the other younger 2's jackets. Pickpockets seldom target at minors as they're too short to reach...

Eldest should carry a HP so s/he can contact you or check GPS. Eldest one can be your eyes and ears while u shop

All 3 kids must memorise their hotel's name (foreign address can be printed on a small card to be carried with them at all times) and parents' HP nos.

And don't forget to register with MFA before departure :-)

The native Germans are generally very helpful to tourists.

But watch out for the foreigners / immigrants.
I nearly got conned by some Turkish-looking men, TWICE.
