West coast USA

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Wah.... this question is too open ended! A lot of things are cheaper in the US - from their factory outlets (think BRANDED GOODS)... to toys, babies and maternity stuff, clothes, health supplements, organic food, blah blah blah.

Maybe can consider Tory Burch. They just opened a new outlet at Wisma. They said it's the up and coming brand. But not all outlets carry it.

Another is Kate Spade??? I can't bring myself to even look at their offering after some MP was "named" after it. :shrug:

Wow... just have lots of luggage space. No space never mind... buy a samsonite there... :wink: Just go there with a card with limitless credit limit and grab as much... everything is really so much cheaper in the US. You will stop shopping in spore. Just stock up....

For dh, usually get biz shirts from Ralph Lauren/ Tommy H. The same shirt cost at least $150 in Spore. But over there... probably US$25 - US$30?

I usually go for the following brands :
* Ralph Lauren (entire family)
* Tommy Hilfiger
* Geox/ Ecco shoes
* Aerospostale (for kids especially my giant sized kids). It's like A&F but cheaper version
* A&F or Hollister
* Le Sportsac
* Coach is really cheap if you are into it. Very common like tankee said prices are around US$100+. My impression is Bonia is more expensive than Coach... for casual use, it's ok.
* CK undergarments
* Nautica
* Sunglasses
* Timberland
* Clinique is cheap in US
* Sometimes might be able to get good watch offers too but must do your homework.
* Osh Kosh
* Carter
* The Children place
* Lego (some said it's cheap) - don't think there are lego at outlet
* observed nerf guns are super duper cheap there as well...
* Visit Toy 'r' us/ Wal-mart/ TJ Maxx/ Macys/ Marshalls
* Yes health supplements - fish oil and I think there was once i bought kids multi vits sweets (same as those sold in JL)
* Iphone 5????

Omg... I just love US shopping... How I wish I can go again...

BTW, pls be very careful with your credit card and ensure you always have a photo id. Some shops will need to verify your card against your id if not, you cannot buy anything. Dh had a cc fraud when we were at NY in June this year. We suspected that those local eatery took down his card details, etc....

Haha..I bought back a Lego Mindstorm set with box in perfect shape the last time. I actually got a carton box and packed the bulky toys etc in it and check in the entire carton! Just like the Indian checking in electronics at Changi airport! :evil: :rotflmao: :laugh:
