Hi, Ja3.

To moisture the nostrils, you can try STÉRIMAR, a pure sea water micro diffusion spray. It can be used as often as required.

To stop nose bleeds or nose blockage, any decongestant nasal spray with Oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.05% is suffice. its vasoconstricting properties, Oxymetazoline is used to treat nose bleed.

(A few popular brands you can consider, iliadin, Afrin, Vicks Sinex or Nasivin.)

However, it's not meant for long term use, use only when necessary, as it will cause rebound-congestion effect after continual 3x daily dose for 4 to 5 days.

Hope this helps.

You can smear something like Vaseline petroleum jelly on the mucous lining inside the nose and just outside to keep it moisturised. Also make sure he doesn't blow his nose too vigorously. And try to keep him well-hydrated as he is likely to drink less when it's cold. If he finds the air too cold, you can see if he is willing to wear a mask.

Ja3, did your child's nose bleed during the trip?

I was in Europe last month. No nose bleed but there was slight discomfort and some blood discharge on a daily basis.

Dear Jennifer

Sorry for late reply. Missed out your post. Yes he bleeds on second day of our trip. Overall still consider ok as the bleed was not scary type. For awhile it stops!
