Hello folks!

We're cruise newbies - didn't think we'd actually enjoy cruising much, but a short trip on Star Virgo last year turns out pretty enjoyable! While the sons ran around enjoying the facilities and pool, hubby and I actually had time to ourselves

So now we are thinking of a second one for a short break... can anyone advise on Costa vs the Royal Caribbean cruises? The itineraries and port stops are all pretty similar, so I am looking for reviews re cabins / facilities onboard / food etc instead.

Have you been on both Caribbean and Star Virgo then? How would compare them?

I have taken both. Prefer the royal Caribbean to star cruise anytime. Royal Caribbean is higher class and better quality and service in my opinion. But to be fair, I went on their European and Alaskan cruise with royal Caribbean, while I took the superstar Virgo to Phuket.

Maybe because I generally do European cruises including river cruises, cruise critic has been a source of valuable information. But I suppose there is generally little reference to the Singapore SEA cruises that are targeted on the local market.

I have been to Royal Carribian Cruise, I personnaly feel that it's a class way above Star Cruise. which was just a XXXXX ship.

Looking at a short trip this June and debating between Star Cruises or Costa.. .. Appreciate any feedback from recent trips..
