Slmkhoo , water proof jacket if u have time can wait for winter time sale . If u get online fr ezy buy etc u can’t feel the materials n wat they claim ( duck down , swan down - dunno how true) !
For pants , I got fr uniqlo.heatech series - only come out in year yr abt nov .
U need to get thermal - uniqlo has extra & ultra warm thermal . $29.9 each . Ultra series can go down to minus .
All these work for me up till -13c with Gloves, scarf , thermal , pull over , weather proof winter jacket , thermal sock ( winter time too )

Hi!

What do u think about bringing child for a 2-weeks trip during June Holidays before PSLE?
Would it be prudent to give the 2 weeks break, or not? Sort of rest from the studying..
Advice please, thanks :D

Any idea when the WT sale will be? Will they have a GSS sale? We looked at WT in Malaysia but didn't see anything she liked. We want to feel and try (my daughter is short and not everything will work for her). She's afraid that she will have to buy from the children's dept overseas (which is probably true).

I thought Heattech is only inner wear? Or do they have trousers as well? I've never seen. Oh, you said they come out in Nov? That will be too late. We just bought a couple of pieces of Heattech innerwear in Malaysia - she may not need it, but we advised her to have 1 set handy "just in case".

It depends on the child - is she the kind who can get back to work quickly after a break? Or the kind who needs a long time to restart the engines? How prepared is she already? Or does she have a lot of backlog to make up? Having a break before the final push can be a good thing, but it may not work for everyone.

My daughter was educated overseas and we brought her back to Singapore for the PSLE. We revised with her overseas up till May of her PSLE year, took a couple of weeks' break, then arrived back in Singapore in mid-June in time to join a Singapore school from Term 3 onwards. She is a strong student and was able to knuckle down quickly to study, and did well. But I wouldn't have done that with my other child. So you have to decide depending how you "read" your child.

And this is rather OT? Maybe you should put this under an "education" or "travel" thread, not "clothes"!

Unqlo blocktech wind proof lined winter pants are a great buy. Do keep a look out for it in future.
Personally I love buying from the children’s department overseas, the designs can be quite nice.
155cm is not hard to shop for here, your greater challenge is that winter season is over for clothing. Where is she going to?

Difficult for me to buy for her as she is like me - non-standard shape! She'll have to shop for herself. I'll make sure she knows how to take up hems! That's what I always have to do.

UK. Well, she's going to have to get familiar with children's clothes! I had to when I was a student.

Decathlon - their products comes in a wide range of prices. Not sure if you can get any winter clothes at this time of the year though. There are 3 outlets in Singapore.

There's a Decathlon in Surrey Quays, London.
