Not sure how many outlets are there in New York and Orlando, but the one that we went in New York, though called outlet, can hardly qualify to be one. More like a mall, say Vivo City like. We did not managed to purchase much there.

The one in Orlando that we went was superb! most, if not all, common outlet brands are there and great bargains, so much so that we went there twice. and the shops were opened till midnight .... Zzzz

The most popular one in New York is Woodbury commons but it's about 1-2 hours from New York City. There are two main outlets in Orlando, both are along the same main road and are quite similar.

I went Woodbury commons quite a few years back, and both Orlando ones last December. I would say Woodbury has more upscale brands but you an find equally good bargains at all three outlets. But because Woodbury is quite a distance from NYC, you should probably stay a night near there in order not to rush. For the Orlando outlets, you can just drive or take a cab from the hotels in Orlando, so you can do it as a day trip or in one afternoon.

If you're in the US around Christmas, there are bargains everywhere, not just at the premium outlets, so you'll have to decide if it's worth a special trip down just to shop.

Thanks for the info! Since Orlando will be one of our first stop, we'll shop there then. Was asking because am concern if I will miss out not buying stuff and wait for our last stop at NY instead. Well, guess will just shop as we go!

In NYC, we rented a car for a day to go Woodbury Commons. It was faster and probably cheaper than taking the buses. Another convenience is you are able to dump your shopping bags in the car while continuing shopping.

Advice appreciated.

Cheers

I went in June this year and concidentally I think I've been visiting woodbury annually for the past 3 years. We never fail to spend up to a day there and so far, I don't think we visited all the stores during each visit as we would do it selectively and still spend so much time.

As a friend described it, even those non-shoppers will also go "wild" and buy something at woodbury.

Always like to make a trip to woodbury as there are a wide variety of brands including the higher end ones (eg. Ferragamo/ burberry/ gucci).

Generally discounts are good except for the tax rate. Eg. in New Jersey, there is no tax for clothes and some other items but in woodbury it was more than 10% if I don't remember wrongly so some of those items are better bought in macys at NJ malls eg. men business shirts
