Good morning everybody.

Those reading this thread must be preparing or looking forward to their well deserve holiday...

I was reviewing "Extreme sports & Activities" coverage by different Insurance Company.

It seems that only AIG covers Extreme Sports & Activities- when you are doing it with recognized local tour operator.

The rest of the Insurance company do not cover when the Sports involves Aviation and Water.

ACE/AVIVA/AXA/Income/MSIG/UOB travel/Tenet/Travelwise.

So be careful when you buy your family travel insurance.

If you know that you will be doing activities like Hot Air Balloon/ Scuba diving/Canoeing....during your holidays....buy the right travel insurance.

Please note I am not an Insurance Seller. Just a KPO...

I call up all these Insurance company...only AIG will cover .
That is why all these Insurance Companies can give good discount.
No wonder AIG premium is always very high.... :skeptical:

Any kind soul, know which Insurance company also covers Extreme Sports?
Do Share, please. :thankyou:

Have a Good and Safe Holiday. :boogie:

Yup,
I usually buy travel insurance before I travel overseas. Take it as an expense spent and I will be saved.
Insurance is not for the dead, but the ones left behind.

How soon will the insurance cover take effect after payment is made? Say, one signed-up n paid for the insurance, but will only be making the trip in 6 months' time. But 2 months down the road, something unforeseen happen (eg. health reasons) and the trip has to be cancelled? Will the insurance cover the penalty to cancel the air ticket n accommodation booking?

Do general travel insurance (e.g. from citibank - they always hv this 40-50% discount) cover activities such as jetski and snorkelling?

It would be best to call the Travel Insurance company to verify.

I went to call up all the Travel Insurance company I know in Singapore to check whether they cover Extreme sports.

All of them tell me Sports that involves Aviation or Water not insure.

Only AIG confirmed they covered Extreme Sports.
But Extreme Sports mentioned are those paid activities which is available to tourist.

Like Hot Airballoon , you are the passenger not the pilot.

Talk to them . If you know you will be doing Extreme sports like canoeing, scuba diving, hiking....

Note: I am not promoting for AIG....it just happen that I need to buy a travel insurance that covers Extreme Sports.

quekcc wrote: As a qualified insurance adviser (well, not practicing now, but can help to refer you to a trusted agent from AIG, MSIG, and others), your insurance will be effective once it is issued. And that is the reason why you must buy insurance once your booking is confirmed. To protect you against things such as travel company closed-down, cancellation due to some reasons etc. Check your insurance schedule for details as there will be slight/minor variation for various products.
Thank you!
