Sharing of rooms

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

I like to find out from travellers here - do you get 2 connecting rooms for a family of 4 adults (2 parents + 2 teenagers)?

We usually try to get 4 in a room, if not, I will just get 2 rooms. I will ask for the rooms to be side by side, but don't usually ask for connecting rooms as not all hotels have them. Some hotels may offer them when they see we are family, but not often.

My first choice would be connecting rooms if they are available, but if they are not, I think having a room directly opposite each other is more convenient than have rooms that are side by side to each other.
