Hi

May need advise from those who fly frequently. If travelling with 2A3C, what's the check-in baggage weight should you recommend to buy (To and Fro)? I'm booking with Jetstar. Also, read some post here that we may not get to sit together?

Thanks

The important question would be... to where?
You will need more if flying to cold/temperate region or during the winter season.

Luggage really depends on how you pack, and whether you intend to shop. My family (4, including teenage kids) usually travels with 1 piece of luggage of under 20kg. But we are very light travellers and generally don't shop. For Jetstar, I have a feeling that all travellers under the same booking have to book the same amount of check-in baggage, but do check this as I'm not sure.

For seating, again, I can't remember for Jetstar, but auto-assigned seating may not put the whole group together. Then you may have to pay a bit more to change seats.

Hi

I am travelling to HK this September. So about 40kg luggage should be enough? Thanks.

I think only you will be able to decide. My family has travelled for 2 weeks with no-check-in luggage, but we are probably extreme.

One large luggage fully loaded is about 25kg. If 2 such luggages are all you need, you can probably make do with 40kg.

I suggest going with less and buying more check in allowance for the return trip. Going to Hk I presume means u will do shopping. So you'll have more coming back. If there r 5 of u, u'll be able to take 5 hand carry, then it depends on whether your kids can each manage a trolley cabin bag. If so, u may only need 20kg going there by maxing your hand carry allowance. But get 40kg or more depending on your shopping habits on the return.
