Hi parents with kids in primary schools, do your kids have a lot of holiday homework to do in June? Schools have now come up with a homework policy but I'm just wondering how effective they are..

i don't know about lots of homework for june...if it is really the case for my daughter in p6, then my entire revision schedule would be haywire. i need the june holiday to revise from scratch.

Sometimes students have more homework during the holidays because their teacher or the class is a little slow. What should have been completed before the exams has not been done. So the outstanding work is given as holiday work for completeness sake.

Some weaker students are given more homework so that their parents/tutors can help during the "holiday" break from lessons.

On the other hand, some good students take tutorial lessons to stay ahead for the next semester. My neighbor is taking lessons with HomeSchool@East and he is 4th in the entire level this year. http://homeschooleast.wordpress.com

Schools always give some work so that the students do not completely slack off.
