Travel: China - Guangxi/Guilin

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Just came back from our 7 days trip to Guilin. Super tired.
We went to Longji Rice Terraces and Cheng Yang Dong Village to see the Cheng Yang Wind & Rain bridge made famous by Jackie Chan's movie, Skiptrace. It was a great photographic trip for us, but definitely not for kids. At least our kids would have been bored if they came with us. Longji and Cheng Yang are rural places with basic amenities. But things got to more our expected standard in Guilin and Yangshuo. We stayed at Banyan Tree in Yangshuo, and it was pure luxury.
