Saw some people mentioning Beijing and Shanghai earlier on... I agree F&E for these huge cities are better.

Nowadays they have a lot of day tours (at least in Beijing, dk about Shanghai). The day tours (we chose English as it was likely to be less crowded and it sure was) do include shopping stops but we were not pressurized at all. The shops were state-run shops and they were focused on educating visitors about Chinese Culture.

The metro was also great (at least in Shanghai.. dk about Beijing), just avoid peak hour if not you will be squashed. Taxis were not expensive either but you may get stuck in a jam.

Isit the first time your family is going to Japan?

If you like city life, then you you can visit Tokyo. Some places of interest include Disneyland, Shibuya and Shinjuku. They also have a Gundam themed shopping mall and Science Museum known as Miraikan in Odaiba.

If you prefer more of the rustic lifestyle and want to have a more slow paced holiday, then Kyoto is the place for your family. There are many historic temples like Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkakuji, Fushimi Inari Shrine. There is also the bamboo forest known as Arashiyama bamboo grove.

You may want buy your tickets online, and early, to avoid disappointment. Since you are visiting 2 parks, the 2-Day Pass is a very good option.

Klook is offering them at SGD161, pick up from Haneda / Narita Airport or Shinjuku. Will probably save you some money from the exchange rate compared to buying direct.

Pls ensure after u book yr tickets online, to print out your tickets. Disney entry gantry not able to read barcode fr yr hp or owise. We had to run back to train station area to print coz our free hotel printing unfortunately had a missing page. We learnt our lesson & hence sharing with all here.
