Transport can be an issue as you choose to get around alone as there is no public taxi or bus. There is motor-taxi although I would not recommend this to a lady. One option is to get the hotel to arrange a car. PP is relatively safe. Just exercise the usual precaution when you are overseas. Common shopping places are the Central and Russian markets. Let me know if you require more info as I stayed there for a few months.
