Original Title: which region is more suitable for beginners skiing ?

Hi, like to hear from contributors where is a good place for beginner skiing lessons ?

Some say Whistler's Mountain, Mont Blanc, Zermatt .... I know there are many places in Europe and USA / Canada .... so based on your experience, which is most suitable : cost, accessibility, communications, food, lodging ?

Many thanks !

I don't know about other places, but I usually go to Lake Tahoe (California) for skiing. There are many many choices there to suit your needs, e.g. North Star, Squaw Valley, Mount Rose, etc. Any children going?

thanks, but never been to US before .... a kind of natural "turn off" whenever thinking about vacation in the US ..... always planned, tickets booked, but never go - ended up in Europe

still can't decide between Zermatt and Mont Blanc / Chamonix ... although have been there many times during summer. Guess no harm going both places since they are so near to each other

:)

went to Salzburg in 2000 (?), and it was a very nice trip. The slope was just nice for beginner, but have steeper slope also. I can't remember the name of the village that I went to, but it was quite ulu. at that time, it was still cheaper than Zermatt and Mont Blanc.:)

probably will pick mont blanc as will be touring southern france & italy....makes less driving.....the price quoted by the ski school looks reasonable enough and is flexible in terms of number of days
