Dear parents and guardians,

I am Alfretz Tay, a full-time result-oriented educator with more than 10 years of experience in coaching mainly primary and lower secondary school students in EMS and EM respectively. In addition, I also have more than 3 years of experience as a freelance trainer in conducting various enrichment courses, including Mathematics, Mathematics Olympiad and Science enrichment classes, in more than thirty local schools.

For the record, one of my P6 students attained 79 marks, which is an "A", for CA1 Maths 2013, a further improvement from the 60+ for both SA2 and CA2 2012. His parents had engaged me as his Maths tutor after he failed his SA1 2012. For the PSLE 2012, one of my students also scored "A"s for EMS while another scored B, A and A* for EMS respectively. Also, a lower secondary student managed to score "A"s in both 2011(Sec 1) and 2012(Sec 2) for Maths after attaining a "B" in the PSLE Maths. Further away in 2009, a student, the youngest of three brothers, scored A* for both Mathematics and Science and "A" for English in the PSLE 2009 and is presently studying in Victoria School. His eldest and elder brothers had scored A* for Mathematics and Science respectively in their respective PSLEs. Both are presently in NUS with the former majoring in Statistics and the latter in Bio-engineering. In 2008, I managed to successfully coach a P6 student in obtaining an "A" for his PSLE Maths. His mother had engaged me as his tutor after he failed his school PSLE preliminary Maths papers then.

My rates for P5 to S2 students are S$80 and S$100 for each 1.5h and 2h one-to-one lesson respectively. However, you could stop engaging me after any lesson if you find that I am not worth the rate that I charge. How is that for confidence on my part? If you are still interested in engaging me as your child's tutor, please email your full address, preferred days and timings to [email protected], quoting kiasuparents. Also, all the parents of my students agree with me that in order to avoid any misunderstanding, I would collect the fee before I conduct each lesson.

Thank you very much.

Warmest regards and have a wonderful week ahead,
Tay Shuh Teck, Alfretz
PS: Please note that I do not take in students from the western part of Singapore as it would likely take me more than an hour to reach there. Thank you very much for being understanding. However, I could recommend fellow trainers, some of whom are local university graduates, if you so require.

Hi, you may wish to visit www.superstarteacher.com.sg for more information on our video lessons on P5 Math.

Alternatively, you may visit http://youtu.be/F0H8XsMkgG4 for a snippet of our P5 Math's video where our Superstar Teacher, Mrs Monica Leong goes through a tricky fraction question. These kind of questions usually appear in the PSLE and true enough, there was a similar question which came out in the 2012 PSLE Math paper!

I can be contacted at 98459565 for more information.

I know one female math tutor in Punggol whom she has taught my girl before we moved to Bt Timah.

DD enjoyed her lessons as she made the lessons easy to comprehend which my girl did well to enter GEP.

But, you must be prepared to send yr child to Punggol. This tutor has personally coached her own child and the boy is in RI now. I paid about $40 per hr if I recalled correctly. I don't know if she is still tutoring but have her contact.
