Re: Private tutor Needed for P5

Postby alfretztay » Thu Aug 11, 2016 8:23 pm

Greetings to all parents and guardians,

I am Alfretz Tay, a full-time result-oriented educator with more than 10 years of experience in coaching mainly primary and lower secondary school students in EMS and EM respectively. In addition, I am also an MOE-registered trainer who have been conducting various enrichment courses, including Mathematics Olympiad and Mathematics enrichment classes, in more than fifty local schools since 2009.

For the RIPMWC 2016, I assisted P6 students in Group 2 of a local school in attaining one high distinction and several distinction awards. Also, since engaging me as his Math coach, one of my students scored 94 marks for his P4 CA1 Math in 2016. This is a further improvement from the 90 marks for P3 SA2 Maths, which is also an improvement from 80+ marks for P3 SA1 Math

On Sat, 16 Jan 2016, I received this message from a parent : "Hello Mr Tay, Happy new year! Sorry we are so late to wish you! We are still in London - R... has performed really well and he is through to the final round of one of the top schools in the UK! I wanted to tell you as I know you will be so pleased and it's thanks to all your help! I will keep you posted. Best wishes, S..."

For PSLE 2015, one of my P6 students scored an "A" for Math while another attained a "B". The former had scored 85% and 84.5% for P6 SA1 and CA1 Math respectively while the latter had also passed his preliminary Math after his parents engaged me as his tutor end July. I also successfully aided one of my P5 students in passing her SA2 Math. Her parents have engaged me as her tutor after she failed her SA1. Another P5 student has scored 74 and 79.5 marks for SA2 Math and Science respectively while still another scored 75% for SA1 Math after scoring 74.5% for P4 SA2 last year.

In 2014, besides aiding 3 P4 students in achieving 85, 78 and 74.5 respectively for SA2 Math, I also helped P5 students in Group 3 of a local school in attaining one silver, two bronzes and numerous honorable mention awards for the NMOS competition. For secondary level, one S1 student received an honourable mention certificate for SMO while another S1 student from another school achieved a gold award in SASMO. Out of the 1456 participants who took part, he was placed 34th position.

In 2013, I had successfully aided a P3 girl in passing both her SA2 and CA2 Math after she failed her SA1 Math. Also, one of my P6 students had consistently been passing his Math tests and examinations, attaining both an "A" for his preliminary as well as PSLE Math 2013, after his parents engaged me as his Math tutor. He had failed his SA1 Math in 2012 then.

For the PSLE 2012, one of my P6 students scored "A"s for EMS while another scored "B", "A" and "A*" for EMS respectively. A lower secondary student managed to score "A"s in both 2011(Sec 1) and 2012(Sec 2) for Maths too after engaging me as his tutor. He had attained a "B" in his PSLE Maths.

Currently, my rates for P5 and above are S$110 and S$130 for each one-to-one 1.5 and 2h lesson while those for P4 and below are S$100 and S$120 respectively. Also, in order to avoid any misunderstanding, I would collect the fee before I conduct each lesson. If you are still keen in engaging me as your child's tutor, please email your address, preferred days and timings to alfretztay@gmail.com as well as the date and timing that you would like me to conduct the first lesson, quoting kiasuparnets. Most importantly is that you could stop engaging me after any lesson if you find that I am not worth the rate that I charge.

Thank you very much.

Warmest regards and have a wonderful week ahead,
Tay Shuh Teck, Alfretz

(Please use the full link above directly, thanks!)

Fill in the request form in the link above to request for a tutor and our coordinators will attend to you within the day.
You get to enjoy the following:
▪ Free matching service
▪ No hidden charges
▪ Commission is charged from tutor

--------
Recommended Books for GEP: http://mathtuition88.com/2013/11/11/rec ... tion-test/

Recommended Resources for GAT DSA Test: http://mathtuition88.com/2014/06/27/gat ... ear-paper/

The Logic portion of GEP test / DSA test is not taught anywhere in the MOE syllabus, and hence the most challenging to prepare for. Your child would need to solve pattern recognition / logic questions, which is quite obviously not taught anywhere from Primary 1 to Primary 6. However, like all skills, these kind of logic puzzles can be taught, trained, and practiced!

Amanda Xu wrote:You might wanna try http://tuitionfinder.sg heard they are not bad in a sense they interview all their tutors under strict regulations etc so no funny business on your side. Also they match your child according to the right tutor, so for parents who wants to go for a long term basis tuition with the tutor you and your kid can connect to, can try them. I just recently engaged a chem tutor from them for my boy, as it's my boy's weakest subject currently. Can pm me for more information.
