For the past 3 weeks, my son had 3 espisode of fever. Each time, the fever will lasts for a few days and he will be well for a few days with normal temp of 36.8 degree before the fever starts all over again. :? Brought him to KK hospital to have an X-ray and blood count test, results okay. Brought him to another doctor for 2nd opinion, was being asked to monitor his condition before bringing him for a blood test to test for microplasma virus, lukemenia, dengue fever, etc... Any parents encountered something similar to mine? Please share your experience with me. :thankyou:

perhaps the virus of the first episode was not fully cleared (the body temperature might still return to normal) thus your son is subdued to 2nd virus and 3rd attack.

get your son to drink more water...also encourage him to eat more vegetables...rest well....etc

btw, how old is your son?

Snow white, both my kids have been taking turns with similar fever. Just when I thought DS is cleared of it, the fever comes back for DD just after 2 weeks.

I have noticed they get it more easily if they sleep late the previous night or eat too much 'heaty stuff' like chocolates and nuts. Drinking lots of water helps.

Thanks HyperKiasu. My son is 5 yrs old. I have been giving him lots of water, barley, water chestnut and chrysanthemun tea but it doesn't help at all.

Thanks Artsy! Have been giving them lots of water, vit C, barley, water chestnut and chrysanthemun tea but it doesn't help at all. Sigh!

Have you given them ling yang? Usually when the child has fever we will give them some ling yang and so far it brings down fever faster.

welcome!
I hope your son already recovered.

my son (P1) had been sick for consecutive 2 weeks. and went back to sch last week only.

in term 2, he was down with HFMD and stayed at home for 2 weeks also.

I suppose his immune system to be stronger when he grows older than when he was in K2K1.

On the contrary, he falls sick more often. I have found some of the reasons: he drink less water (in childcare ctre, he was closely supervised by teacher), he didn't take nap (his sch is afternoon session), he ate less veggie (in CCC, he has to eat what was given..)

I have brought him to see two PD, both of them suggest water vegetable and rest and also encourage outdoor activities....

I even asked the PD whether there is a need to take supplement like vitamin C or manuka honey, both of two PD dismissed the ideas as they said they believe in something natural...
