Hi,

Ds was diagnosed as verbal dyspraxia and has been on speech therapy. On the emotional development, compared to his peers, he seems more immature. Recently, he was bullied by his peers and did not seem aware. I have heard of the above clinic which will take over cases from KK Cdu as KK stops handling cases beyond 6 years old. Has any parents brought their kids there ?

thanks..

We would like to send our child for a ADHD diagnosis test at Children Guidance Clinic. As we were told there are 2 paths to get an subsidized appointments at CGC.. from school counselor and referral from polyclinic.. which one is better and faster?

Daughter was above 7 when I first brought her to the polyclinic for a referral to see a child psychologist. Kids 7 and below will be referred to KK.
School counselor can make a request to the specialist via MOE. But it's hard to tell which route is faster although both will be subsidized.

Go Polyclinic get referral letter. Cheaper and faster. Subsidized rate. Professional service. Don't wait. Early intervention work best. Don't deny the child to get treated and wait until only when going to take PSLE then worry. Go for a peace of mind.

if you go private, it will be very expensive...though it will be faster.
seek treatment early because you would need to wait a while for the first appointment and any subsequent tests (if required).
