Has anyone lost weight using slimming centres? Any recommendation?

Are they effective and how much did you have to spend before you dropped the kilos? Please share your experiences...

I am sick of looking at myself... can't even buy a nice blouse at the stores.

i lost some post pregnancy weight via slimming centres. Cost about $4k+ in total but i did not continue or finish the package. They are pretty good at persuading people to keep on signing on their packages, either thru adding on or through package sharing. I find that one needs to be very discipline in their diet, else they will waste their $$ on the treatments.

right now, i exercise and diet to maintain the weight. I find it more effective and its a cheaper alternative.

Wow, so $1k per kilo...

I was tempted to sign up with London Weight Management after seeing their success cases. I have a lot of weight to lose but worried that there'll be no effect after all the money spent.

Now trying my best to eat less (but very hungry), and walk with baby more.

I heard from a friend who used Marie France that you need to spend at least $10k there to lose all the weight.

My fren went to London Weight mgtment. She told me she fainted from the first treatment coz think is too much for her to bear. :P

Another fren went to Maria france, but was told to eat only two tablespoon of rice with dishes per meal.

I went to Body Perfect. Must eat some simple detox food before each meal. I am just plain lazy lah.

Loosing weight naturally is not impossible as I have friends who succeed with doing that. Eat high fibre meals and less fried and oily stuffs.

I just lost 1.2 kg last week because was down with bad flu but appetite still okay. I ended up eating soupy stuffs for every meal because of the sore throat. So perhaps it does help in loosing weight :P

Hi new_mummy and cherrygal,

I was also so tempted to try the slimming centre. But i also heard that it is not very effective.

newmummy, did you breastfeed your child? Actually breastfeeding is the most way to lose weight after giving birth. After giving to my 1st 2 kids, I breastfeed them and I was much slimmer before pregnancy. However, now for my 3rd child, I am still 2 kilo to my pre-pregnancy weight (my girl is 2 yrs old now). Maybe also partly bcos I went for tubal ligation so during the 1st mth, cannot massage my tummy so still find myself not as slim as before.

Now I am trying out NaturCare Lacto Fiber to cleanse my digestive system and fight hunger pang, and see if it will help. I recommend to my friend, although she personally has not see herself losing much weight but she finds herself much healthier and more energy.

I lost about 15 kgs (not included the newborn, water bag etc) after delivered of my 3rd kid within 3 months.

I go to exercise at least 25-30 minutes a weeks and not really control my diet as so many dinners in year ends, hard to control in front of the good foods also

However, i try to avoid oily stuffs and cut down the portion if eating at home. Eat brown rices instead of white rices. I think the main reason is i am fully breastfeeding my son, it's really help.

I think the slimming centre will provide some good results, but by spending about $10K to lost 10kgs, it's not worth for me lor and also i don have that money to spend, 1kg = $1000 :!: anyway, no harm to try if you have money and budget lor, but don expect too much, the slimming centre will not blame themself if they cannot give you what you want, they will just ask u to "top up", buy another packages and at the end they will say u never control diet.

BTW, do your heard the 3 days NTUC diet plan (lost 2 kgs in 3 days) ? i believe this plan as they not intend to make money like all the slimming centres. Here is the plan:

DAY One
Breakfast:
Black tea/coffee
1 grapefruit
1 slice toast
2 tsps peanut butter
Lunch:
Black tea/coffee
4 oz (100g) tuna
1 slice toast
Dinner:
1 slice chicken ham
1 cup (50g) long beans
4 oz (100g) beetroot
4 oz (100g) Ice-cream
1 small apple

Day Two
Breakfast:
Black tea/coffee
1 egg boiled/poached
1 slice toast
Half a banana
Lunch:
Black tea/coffee
4 oz (100g) cottage cheese
5 Tun/Ritz biscuits
Dinner:
2 chicken sausages
4 oz (100g) broccoli
2 oz (50g) carrots
Half a banana
4 oz (100g) ice-cream

Day Three
Breakfast:
Black tea/coffee
1 egg hard boiled
1 slice toast
Lunch:
Black tea/coffee
1 slice chedder cheese
5 Tun/Ritz biscuits
1 small apple

No, i did not breastfeed my baby. I lost 15kg right after C-sect delivery. Think mostly is water retention. Lost 4kg after going thru slimming centre treatment. Now i am still left with 5kg to my pre-pregnancy weight... cant seem to shed them at all. :P

Anna, i heard about the NTUC 3 day meal plan before. But i dun think i will follow, I get hungry easily, so eating one slice of toast is impossible to fill up my tummy. What's worst, i got long long history of bad gastric, so cannot skip meals!

Looks like exercising and choosing what i eat is the only way I can slim down.

Yup! It's very hard to "eat less", i still have extra 4kgs with me, but the number will be increasing soon as i am going back to M'sia next week (lots of yummy foods), then Christmas's party, Year End dinner and Chinese New Year --- Eat first then exercise later.

Jia You !!!!!!!!!
